The cutting of many old trees at Harmu Chowk in the name of development raised concerns about the loss of urban green spaces and the environmental cost of development.
In response, AAM Founder Vedant Kaustav organised a peaceful public protest at Harmu Chowk. A specially prepared portrait depicting a man climbing a ladder made from cut trees, with the earth burning beneath him, was used to convey a simple message: development should not come at the cost of our environment.
Vedant stood at Harmu Chowk for the day, drawing public and media attention to the issue and sharing his views on the importance of protecting trees and urban green spaces.
The initiative received coverage from local news channels, with media personnel covering the protest and recording Vedant's views. The action was an effort to bring the issue of tree loss into public discussion and remind people that environmental protection must remain part of the conversation whenever development takes place.
