AAM believes that awareness is the foundation of meaningful change, and that an aware and engaged youth can become a strong force for positive change. With this thought, AAM organised a debate competition on “Save Environment, Save the River” at Marwari College, Ranchi.
The competition brought together students of Marwari College to express their views, discuss environmental concerns and think critically about the need to protect our rivers and environment.
The debate was judged by professors of the college, with the principal and other college heads also present at the programme. Cash prizes were awarded to the first, second and third position holders in recognition of their participation and performance.
The initiative was an effort to create a space where young people could engage with environmental issues through discussion and exchange of ideas. AAM plans to take similar environmental debate programmes to other colleges in the future, creating more opportunities for young people to speak, question and participate.
